Wordless Wednesday (Aug. 13)

I officially begin my contracted time with CCSD today. TODAY! No big deal.

My love and I went out to celebrate my teacher status on Monday night because he worked last night. Can you guess where we went? It was delicious! 

There may have been some ah-mazing biscuits also...

Five for Friday!

This. is. It. People.

This is OFFICIALLY my last Five for Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching  before I begin my new job career. CAREER!!! Summer is almost over and boy am I happy about it! I'm so happy it went by quickly...much more quickly than I ever would have dreamed!

Here are 5 of the things I did this week. I have been one busy almost teacher!!

Yesterday I had to go to a meeting to sign contracts for the Union and Health Insurance. That's right, this girl is mere days away from health coverage!

 

 Shaunna and I right before the Union meeting. We love opportunities to confuse people. 

My twin and I headed down to our schools on Wednesday so we could see each others rooms. We discovered that Shaunna's school has a tortoise habit AND a garden. I was super jelly at first! When we got to my school, I saw that we are also getting a garden. #Twinning

 Shaunna is super jealous that they have such a huge, dead sunflower.

Part of the garden. They have farmers markets twice a year where the families can come and buy fresh produce! VERY cool!

As I continue down my healthier path, I am trying to cook more. The other day I made some delicious lettuce wraps with with a bunch of different veggis and couscous. Here is a before picture of the ingredients. I ate all of them wraps before I took a photo! haha

We had an awesome storm here the other day! This is what happens when it rains in Vegas for more than an hour.

 

Pardon the giant crack in my windshield. It's crazy how long you can overlook things when you are broke. haha

Today is my last day of babysitting this summer! Im going to miss the kids, but not having to leave the house by 5:30am! After this, getting up for school will be a piece of cake! haha

I hope it has been smooth sailing for those of you who have started the school year already!

My Classroom Library!

Another Wednesday, that means its time to linkup with Christina over at Sugar and Spice for Wordless Wednesday!

For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you saw that I scored (S-C-O-R-E-D!!!) at a local library when they had a sale for .25 books! My twinster and I stocked up and bought a combined 130 books!


A BIG thanks to the twin's lovely boyfriend, who was in for a lot more than he bargained for with this one!

I have many questions this week. I'm sorry, but I am a first year teacher and I've run out of Wednesdays! Any answers would be soooo appreciated. I might also love you forever.

1) Has anyone ever tried a reading challenge with their kiddos? (The teacher challenges the students to read a set number of books off of a list)

2) Does anyone have any book 'must-reads' for middle schoolers?

3) How do you go about organizing your classroom library? Do you have a check-out policy?

4) What is the bet book score you have ever found?

Five for Friday!

Hellooooo Friday!

I can't beleive that I'm saying this...but next Friday is officially my last Friday of summer! I have been waiting and waiting for summer to be over! And now in the blink of an eye it's almost time to go back to school! It's funny how that always happens!

I've had a fun week and can't wait to tell you all about it! I'm linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday.

 I signed up for my first SLANT box this month! I am so excited about it!

I have been blog hoppin up a storm trying to reach 105! I'm not sure if I'm going to make it, but I have had a lot of fun regardless!

This is the most recent photo of my grammy and me...too bad she wasn't looking at the camera! Pardon my "hay" face.

My grandma, one of my favorite people...ever, is coming to visit for a week! She was supposed to be up to visit in May for my graduation, but she broke her foot two days before so she wasn't able to make it. :( I am so excited she will be able to make it this time! 

 

My blog reached a huge milestone this week. If you follow me on Instagram, you've already seen this. If you don't follow me on IG (@mspaddy91), you should! ;) I made it to 50 followers! Woooo! I am at 74 now. Who will be number 75?!

 Yes, another Bridesmaids reference, because Bridesmaids.

This may be a strange thing to list, but I only have one more month until I am officially insured! I haven't been to the dentist since I had braces on (a looooong time ago!) so I am ecstatic! Pain and agony, here I come!

Wordless Wednesday (July 30th)

I find myself sitting here...well...freaking out! Hopefully linking up with Ms. DeCarbo today for Wordless Wednesday will help!

It is July 30th...only one day left until August is here...and I feel like I haven't been able to prepare anything! I keep thinking about how my classroom will turn out and how much different having my own room will feel from student teaching.

I have two questions today and would LOVE some advice!

1) How much different was your first year teaching from student teaching? 2) What is one thing you wish you would have done your first year that you didn't do?

Five for Friday (July 25th)

Haaaappy Friday! Today I am linking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for Five for Friday  :)

 

I was so excited, like BEYOND excited, to get my diploma in the mail. I checked the mail every day in anticipation of seeing that Envelope from UNLV waiting for me. I finally received it and the excitement was short lived...

I have been having so much fun on instagram this week! I was never really into IG before so I am still trying to figure out how it works. These are some of my favorite posts!

Obviously I was full of excitement when I posted this screenshot. Little did I know....haha!

 I have been trying to eat healthier lately. And by healthier, I mean not fast food or processed garbage ;) Oatmeal has been one of my go-tos!

As you can see from my instagram photos, I have been Bloghoppin like crazy! If you don't know about the scavenger hunt, head on over to Bloghoppin and check it out! I'm planning a day to go down to the strip soon...I will be able to find so many of the list items down there!
